Who could ask for anything more? A bright sunny day, with just the hint of a breeze, colorful uniforms, memorial wreaths and a worthy cause - these are the elements that made up the 229th Anniversary Celebration of the Battle at Ramsour's Mill. This was largely a civil war action, Tory against Whig, with an outcome that denied Lord Cornwallis the services of Loyalist factions who might have joined him had they not been deterred by the Patriots. Patriotic organizations from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Tenessee gathered on a hillside to honor the Patriots who fought and died in this battle, and to continue the support of American troops who still go in Harm's Way to preserve our freedom.
